We wanted to be able to share our premium asparagus all year round and utilise our full harvest each season. Our freeze-dried asparagus “Wee Sticks” ensure you can now enjoy the delicious taste and health benefits of asparagus all year round.
Wee sticks are a natural freeze dried asparagus snack grown in the heart of Ashburton New Zealand. These tasty wee bites are made from 100% real asparagus with just a sprinkle of seasoning. Perfect for snacking on-the-go, they pack a delicious crunch and health punch in every bite!
Our Ethos
Looking after land that we had toiled so hard over the years to obtain is at the heart of what we do.
Being based on the well-draining, fertile plains of Mid Canterbury means that water is at a premium, so how we use it is key.
Our fully-piped, underground irrigation system enables us to use water efficiently for optimum growth and nutrient control. All the irrigation is automated and recorded. We know in the blink of an eye.. or rather buzz of the phone… if there is too little or too much water going on at any one time to achieve fresh, crisp asparagus.

Hi, we’re Dave and Bronwyn – the proud team behind My Farm Fresh. What a ride the last few years have been! We began with the simple idea of growing something we loved to eat, that could also fit in around Dave’s other job as a livestock rep. Asparagus ticked all the boxes – or so we thought.
As it turned out, good intentions were only the beginning. Holding ourselves to high standards has meant doing everything properly – from careful irrigation and land management, through to crop varieties and processing systems. It’s been a journey full of challenges, learnings, and plenty of ups and downs.
To help balance the impact of peak market seasons, we decided to innovate – and that’s how our Wee Sticks range was born. While still in its early stages, this has given us the ability to supply high-quality, New Zealand-grown asparagus all year round. The trade-off? That once-dreamed-of quieter off-season is well and truly a thing of the past!
